Jonatan Piña Duluc, Drip/Culebra

Este evento es para el lanzamiento del primer álbum como solista de Jonatan Piña Duluc, un servidor, llamado «Drip/Culebra». El evento empieza hoy, continúa con el lanzamiento del primer tema mañana martes 18 a las 10:00 am. Continúa con la publicación de varios temas y videos, hasta que llega el lanzamiento del disco completo en Bandcamp el jueves 27 de julio 7:30 pm, durante la entrevista en inglés que daré en el programa de Radio canadiense La Villa Strangiato moderado por Gregory Kampf donde será el estreno en radio del disco. El evento culmina con la entrevista en castellano que haré via telefónica con Quique Quagliano para Gigantes Gentiles, programa de radio argentino, donde seguiremos estrenando música del disco.
This event is a cd release for Jonatan Piña Duluc´s, yours truly, album called «Drip/Culebra». The event starts today, continues tomorow tuesday 18 at 10:00 am, with the posting of the first track. Then it continues with postings of other tracks and videos until comes the time for the release of the complete album on Bandcamp, while my interview for Gregory Kampf´s Radio Show La Villa Strangiato (Canada) is on the air at 7:30 pm on thursday 27th. The event comes to an end with the interview in spanish via phone I´ll do with Quique Quagliano for the argentinean radio show Gigantes Gentiles, programa de radio on saturday 29th at 3:00 Dominican Time.
El álbum puede ser descrito como música avant-garde con toques jazzísticos o tal vez como un jazz de cámara. Conciso, moderno, en él que se utiliza la improvisación como método para componer. Un disco con mucho enfoque en la textura, el contraste, la dinámica y la sutileza. Un trabajo introspectivo, visual, descriptivo y extremadamente personal. El nombre del disco se refiere a la técnica de improvisación y pintura automática parecida a como se hicieron las grabaciones del álbum y también hace referencia al símbolo de la serpiente con la cola en su boca, que ha sido utilizada para representar el ciclo de creación, muerte, renovación y la relación entre el orden y el caos. El disco fue grabado por mí, en el toco todos los instrumentos y fue mezclado por Iván Batista.
The album can be described as avant-garde jazz or maybe as chamber jazz. Concise, improvisational, compositional. There´s a lot of emphasis on texture, contrast, dynamics and subtlety. This work is introspective, visual, descriptive and very personal. The title makes reference to the drip-painting technique as a creative method and also references the symbol of the snake with the tail in its mouth, which has been used to represent the cycle of life, death, renewal and the relation between chaos and order, very relevant to the way this work was made. The album was recorded by myself, playing all the instruments and was mixed by Iván Batista.
